Course
overview
This is a course for experienced and qualified
hypnotherapists who work with, or would like to
study, in-depth techniques of hypnoanalysis and
other related techniques. A
similar Advanced Diploma in Transpersonal
Hypnotherapy is available.
Analytical hypnotherapy is
often not covered extensively in
hypnotherapy training courses. If you are a
practitioner fascinated by the possibilities
of hypnoanalysis and would like to learn
about it in depth, or to upgrade your
previous training in the subject and find
out how much more there is to know, this
course is for you.
Following this course, you might well realise how
much knowledge has been left out of certain hands-on professional hypnotherapy
trainings!
No previous knowledge of psychoanalysis,
Freud or psychodynamics is assumed as necessary concepts will be
introduced as part of the relevant modules.
We are aware that in the UK, there have
been several professional hypnoanalysis trainings with a very strict
classical Freudian and materialist (anti-spiritual or
anti-transpersonal) approach. This diploma does not take that line.
Our studies of hypnoanalysis include advanced texts
in hypnoanalysis by leading practitioners.
Please note that this course does not
involve past life regression (i.e. regression to a previous incarnation)
in the core syllabus. However, the course tutor has an open mind about
such techniques, and if you would like to study past life therapy in
depth, we have a separate Advanced Diploma in Transpersonal Hypnosis.
Although we don’t cover past life
regression in this course, we recommend that every hypnotherapist has
some acquaintance with past life therapy techniques, because spontaneous
past life regressions can occur in any session – whether you believe in
past lives or not – and it can be extremely disconcerting or even
traumatizing for the client if you cannot handle them or if you react in
an insensitive and rejecting way. If you use any form of regression to
childhood, eventually you will have a client with an anomalous
regression experience of the sort that can be called a “past life”.
For this reason, if we grant you
exemption from Modules 1 and 3 of this course, you can choose an
optional module in past life therapy techniques that will provide an
overview of methods. However, choosing a module on past life regression
is entirely optional and you do not need to do it in order to study and
pass the Advanced Diploma in Analytical Hypnotherapy.
